UK Car Market Sees Significant Growth
The UK car market has seen its best July since the Covid pandemic, with a significant rise in sales of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric cars. According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), a total of 156,571 new cars were registered during July, an increase of 11.7% compared to July 2025. EV registrations rose by 44.5% compared to July 2025, with EVs accounting for one in four of all new cars sold.
